Christmas Tree Angels

We had a wonderful time in Vail. Ed was able to take the lift to the mountain from the back door of the hotel. He skied most of Saturday and had a fantastic time. Blanden and I met him in the village for a late lunch. That evening we watched the Denver Parade of Lights on television in our room, then enjoyed another delicious, elegant dinner out -- I wish I had gotten a picture of Blanden drinking from a water goblet instead of his sippy cup. :-)
We came home early Sunday afternoon to pick our pups up from their hotel. After unpacking, we decorated the house for Christmas!

Blanden is excited about the tree. He enjoyed helping to put the ornaments on this year, and especially the angel. Happy holidays!

We Are in Vail!

Ed, Blanden, and I are in Vail for the weekend! So far our indulgent weekend getaway has consisted of eating, relaxing, and sleeping -- a perfect way to start the weekend in my book.

Settling into the hotel room.

Getting cozy and helping his friends feel at home.

Playtime before dinner.

Bundled up and waiting for the shuttle back to our hotel last night. Dinner was excellent! Blanden particularly enjoyed his pizza -- but not a boring children's cheese pizza, an adult gourmet appetizer pizza topped with caramelized onions, asiago cheese, and truffles!

We woke up to snow falling this morning; it's beautiful. After breakfast together in the hotel restaurant (Blanden enjoyed the French toast but was most excited about lots and lots of strawberries), Ed headed off to ski. We're sure he's having a fantastic time! For now, Blanden and I are lounging and playing in the hotel room. We'll probably venture out to Vail Village later on...
