Happy Halloween!

And they're off! Blanden and Daddy head out on Blanden's very first trick-or-treating adventure.

The first stop: our next-door neighbor's house. ... Except, Blanden doesn't quite understand this whole thing yet, so they only went to three houses total.

However, Blanden was very intrigued by the various buckets of candy (ours to hand out and his), fascinated by all the kids coming to the door, and more than content to play with his treasure at home.

And, yes, he got to try a treat himself, his very first candy bar: M&Ms, which he selected.

Clearly, a big hit! As evidenced by the multiple-colored chocolate drool coming from his mouth and dripping onto his shirt. Still, I love that that one teeny, tiny package of M&Ms lasted all night. :) Happy Halloween! Time to start dreaming up what concoction of a costume we can ask Grammy to whip for next year ...

Trick or Treating at Dad's Work

On Friday morning, with the sun back out and the snow melting, Blanden and I took Daddy to work (as Ed hadn't yet put his snow tires on his car for the winter, not thinking he would need them already). Then we went back in the afternoon to show off Blanden's fabulous costume -- and to hand out some of his gold treasure in reverse trick-or-treat fashion (Blanden's a generous pirate).

As you can see, he attracted quite a crowd! (And this costume is a keeper! One we will treasure always.)
