Blanden Likes Breakfast

Although we are both fortunate to share (and prepare) breakfast with Blanden every morning, Ed and I continue to be amazed at how much he eats for the morning meal -- and how he eats progressively less as the day goes on. A typical breakfast for Blanden includes two pieces of whole-wheat French toast, half a banana, a container of YoBaby yogurt, and a full glass of whole milk; or a one-egg-with-cheddar cheese omelet (Dad's specialty), a piece of whole-wheat toast, a big handful of raspberries, and milk. So, given that yesterday was a lovely, leisurely Sunday, he had both: French toast in the morning, and an omelet for lunch.

Feeling fueled up and well-rested (after Blanden's two-and-a-half-hour morning nap between his big meals), we headed out on a long walk. We spent time in the park, where Blanden loves to be in the thick of it with the "big kids" on the playground, and is getting big enough himself to start trying out some of the equipment, and Belle got to swim in the irrigation canals (her favorite). On the way home, we took a little detour to pick up some fresh ingredients for our dinner that night (and discovered that Blanden is a big fan of bison steak! Good to know, as he usually eats next to nil at dinner...). It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

Blanden,

I recognize that shirt! Bet you have already forgotten what fun we had in Traverse City, but Papa and I talk about it all the time.

What toys are you learniing to play on at the park? Next month and we come to visit, we'll take you to Washington Park too, and you can show us all the fun stuff you do.

Sounds as if yesterday, was a good mom/dad afternoon.

Love,
Grammy
