October 2009 Snow Storm

We've had an interesting week. The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday called for snow, and the next thing we knew, 14.5 inches had accumulated. The three of us were happy to stay home and stay put, safe, sound, and cozy. (Although Ed's office wasn't officially closed, he had the official okay to work from home. Thank goodness!)

Unfortunately, Blanden doesn't have his snow bibs and boots yet -- after this, they are on the way! So he spent much time running from one window to the next watching Belle and Ella play outside and watching Daddy shovel and shake snow from the still-mostly leaved trees.

It's normal to get our first snowfall in October, but this is much more typical of a March or April snowstorm. A sign of the winter to come? Hmm...

But, as is also typical in Denver, by Friday the sun was back out, temps were in the 50s yesterday, and the snow is already just about gone. Good thing, as trick-or-treating was just around the corner!
