Pouring Cheerios

Blanden has learned how to get water from the refrigerator and pour it back and forth between his various cups. Pouring is a favorite bath time activity, but one that's not so good for the kitchen floor. So Cheerios make a nice alternative. And the dogs are happy to pick up any strays.
This morning Ed and I took Blanden to his daycare classroom for one last visit before he begins full time on his own next week. We also dropped off the supplies he'll need while he's there (diapers, wipes, extra clothes, sippy cups, a blanket for nap time, and even sunscreen) so it's feeling pretty official. I think the visits have helped -- I can already see a difference in his willingness to venture off and play on his own and participate a little bit in group activities -- but it will be a big transition for all of us.
Speaking of big transitions, he's now four days in to using the new bed and Blanden is doing great! He's been sleeping through the night and napping successfully. He's also enjoying playing in his room more often now -- something made easier by the absence of the enormous crib and portable crib that had been semi-permanently set up in his room. Suddenly what was a smallish nursery seems quite spacious! And more like an appropriate little boy's room. :)
