Indian Summer at Highlands Ranch

Since Katie needed time this afternoon to work on editing projects, Blanden and I headed south to Highlands Ranch to visit with family. I picked up a Meat Lover's pizza pie and Jim provided the microbrew and we were ready for a leisurely Sunday afternoon watching football.
It turned out to be quite an enjoyable afternoon for Blanden and I. We watched football, went on a walk in the greenbelt, played with Lucky (the new pup), and generally spent quality time with Uncle Jim, Aunt Nancy, and counsins Jeremy and Gretchen. The above picture is Blanden effortlessly bonding with his future godmother. And it was very special watching Jeremy and Gretchen kindly caring for Blanden.
Shortly before Blanden and I left for home, Jim helped avoid a "meltdown" by serving as an improptu swing. It worked well! Although the meltdown began again in the car on the way home. After a highway detour and scenic tour of the Denver Tech Center (Blanden likes to be on the move when he's crying), Blanden and I eventually made it home safely.
Katie seemed authenically happy to hear about our great adventures; however, I suspect that she was more happy to hug our little guy. It was a very good day, though Blanden and his cousins would have also preferred a Broncos win...I suppose such ideallic dreams will be left for future Sundays.

Blanden, you take the best pictures, and naturally so does your Aunt Nancy! Sounds like you and Dad had a grand adventure yesterday.
