Night at the Museum

Checking out the infant area with Mom.
"Floating" on a "lily pad" in a pretend pond.

Playing with a turtle puppet with Dad.

This is Blanden's second visit to the mirror. The first time, he thought it was fun to smile back at himself. But in between the first and second visit, he discovered that he can make those animals on the wall next to the mirror spin, so now he's much more interested in those ...

Checking out a fire truck and fireman gear with Dad in the big-kid play area.

As part of Denver Arts Week, the Children's Museum had free admission tonight so we decided to check it out. I'm not sure who had more fun -- Blanden, wide-eyed, checking out all the activities going on around him, or his parents, watching him.
Blanden really seemed to have a good time. He's beginning to show an interest in other babies, and after a while he even began to squawk... He sounds quite like a baby bird -- or more specifically, as Ed says, what we imagine a pterodactyl would have sounded like. It's Blanden's new favorite sound to make, seeing just how high-piched he can go. He does it often when he's happy and playing, but tonight is the first time we've heard him do it away from home or in front of others. He seemed to be getting caught up in the excitement!
P.S. After several false predictions, Denver finally received its first snowfall of the year -- we woke up to a nice covering of the fluffy white stuff on the ground this morning (although it melted this afternoon). No, there are no pictures of Blanden playing with Belle and Ella in the snow this year -- we'll save that experience for next winter. :) But Blanden wore an outfit with a little polar bear and penguin on it in honor of his first wintery day.

Good Morning Blanden, and naturally hi to mom and dad too! Looks like the three of you had fun last night, and beware, I have a feeling that your folks are going to do the same type of things Grammy and Grandpa used to do to your mom and Uncle Andrew, plan a fun time, then try to sneek in a little "education" along the way. But we like to think that the fun out weighed the education. We are anxiously awaiting your families visit in just a week, you have lots of new experiences coming, your first plane trip will be the highlight, actually, your mom was about the same age as you are when she took her first flight, and it was to visit grandparents too! It will be fun to see what you think of our doggie, Phoenix is way smaller than Belle and Ella, actually he is about your size. See you and your folks SOON!
