Today is Daddy's birthday! We celebrated by taking Blanden to his first baseball game. Here he is sporting his new Colorado Rockies hat, which Daddy picked out for him first thing after we entered the park. (Although he wasn't too keen on wearing it facing forward, he had no problem wearing it backward. Thus, we will save seeing the cute -- I'm sorry, cool -- purple and silver CR logo on the front for another photo op.)
We had a leisurely morning. Well, Mommy and Daddy had a leisurely morning, that is. Blanden and thus Grammy were up at 5:30 a.m.! Eventually we made our way over to the Cherry Creek farmers' market, which is really more like a little gourmet food festival with a few farm stands thrown into the mix. We wandered, had delicious smoothies and crepes and other assorted goodies for lunch (including a miniature, palm-sized apple pie for Daddy, his favorite dessert), then Daddy headed home while Mommy, Grammy, and Blanden did a little more shopping in nearby stores, then enjoyed a walk home.
This evening we had dinner at the Breckenridge Brewery, which is located right across from the ballpark, and timed it perfectly to wait out the rain. As we were wrapping up, the sun came back out and the game was on. Blanden made it all the way to the 7th inning (at 9:00 o'clock) before we decided it was probably time to head home for the night.
