Yesterday afternoon, while Blanden was in his play space and Ed was outside, I ran upstairs for a couple of minutes. As I came out of our bedroom and turned the corner to head back down, there was a surprise waiting for me on the landing: Blanden, with a big smile on his face! He has figured out how to remove the trays from beneath his train table that were conveniently (for us, anyway, not so much for him) blocking his exit. Thank goodness I wasn't taking a long shower when this happened! (Just kidding -- mostly. Blanden safely plays in his crib when he and I are home alone and I am in the shower... Although Ed and I are starting to worry about how soon the day may come when he learns how to climb out of his crib too...)

Welcome to the E.B.W. Blog. This is where the (mis)adventures of Blanden and Ellis will be chronicled. Each post of this blog represents a chapter in the lives of our boys. This blog will serve to bind these chapters into books. These books will be gathered, carefully archived, then lovingly offered as a gift to this library. Comments to these posts are highly encouraged. Your words will enrich our understanding of the unique relationship you've created with our special little guys. Enjoy!

Blanden,
Sounds like you have been a busy, active, growing young man, oh my, good thing that you have figured out that sleeping through the night "thing", because all three of you are going to need extra good nights sleep as you continue to adventure. I had to smile when the folks said that the door between the stairs and the rest of the house has a lock, incase that becomes necessary, you might want to whisper to them, that it is just a matter of time before the lock is necessary!
Who caught the picture of you looking so determined as you worked on your great escape? It is a great one.
Are you thinking about how to safely come down stairs, since you definately have mastered going up them? Grammy is always excited and delighted to hear your new accomplishments, but I'll be especialy glad to here when you learn to do that. I don't remember your Momma taking a tumble down stairs, but Uncle Andrew took a big, bad fall once, so please be careful.
Seems like just a few days ago, when we were at your house for your birthday, we where playing with the house puzzle, I would put the pieces in, and you would very thoughtful take them out! Good grief at the rate your learning new things, we'll just have to spend our entire first day together catching Grammy up on your new accomplishments.
There is an old saying, something about you just made my day, it doesn't get much better than waking up to your blog. Have a good day, and I wonder what you'll do today? I am off to lunch with a friend, then some errands, which include shopping for the things I need to make your pirate costume.
Love you sweetheart,
Grammy
