Adventuring with Grammy and Papa

Blanden spent the entire day today with Grammy and Papa -- at the zoo! The day started out cool and cloudy, with a potential for rain, but Grammy, Papa, and Blanden decided to brave it. Luckily the sun came out instead, and all three of them eventually came home around 4 p.m., tired and with big smiles on their faces. Blanden rode the carousel for the first time and apparently absolutely loved it -- so he rode it again. He ate animal crackers for the first time -- and loved those too. The elephants were giving each other dust baths and trumpeting, and the lions were doing tricks -- not the sea lions, the African lions. On the way home, they stopped for Bonnie Brae ice cream (the best in Denver) and Blanden had his own cup of strawberry -- yum. Tonight, Grammy made spaghetti and bison meatballs, Blanden's favorite. In a little boy's life, it just doesn't get better than this!

Ready to roll -- and taking Giraffe back to visit his old digs. (Blanden adopted Giraffe from the zoo gift shop as a souvenir on his birthday, and he is now Blanden's favorite friend -- besides Belle and Ella, that is.)
Sightseeing with Papa. Probably looking at the lions who were up close and personal, just on the other side of the glass.

Riding the carousel...

Twice. He liked the ones that moved up and down better, of course.

And finally crashing. What a day!

Blanden,

Even though PaPa and I were characters in your zoo adventure yesterday, smiling with you the entire day, this morning, there are still smiles as we read about it.

What "trouble" do you think the three of us can find today?
