Cousins

Blanden still talks about how much fun he had splashing in his pool with cousins Jeremy and Gretchen a few weeks ago, and he has greatly been looking forward to some water fun in their neck of the woods. Today we headed to Highlands Ranch and spent hours playing in a beautiful park that included fountains and a stream and a neat playground.

Blanden loves hanging out with his older cousins, and they are so good to him. Jeremy made sure to continue sharing the ball with Blanden too when some "big kids" joined in the fun, and Gretchen was careful to hold Blanden's hand to keep him from too much chaos when the fountains got crowded. And at one point, Jeremy reminded me that sometimes it's okay to let little boys test their independence -- Jeremy wanted to show Blanden a more challenging way to climb to the top of the slide and I wasn't sure he could do it, but Jeremy said, "Just let him try." And sure enough, Blanden did it! ;) Thank you for spending the morning with us, dear Colorado family. Blanden was asleep within five minutes in the car ... and Ellis looks forward to joining in the fun next year!
