"Uh-Oh!"

Is officially Ellis's first word. :)

This past weekend, after bending down countless times in the kitchen to pick up wooden blocks and plastic rings, it finally occurred to me: "Oh, we're in this phase now, where you are doing this on purpose ... again and again and again." And sure enough, within a few days he would deliberately pick up one toy, lean over the edge of his booster seat, slowly let it go, watch to see where it landed, and then delightedly say, "uh-oh!" Sometimes he says, "uh-uh-oh!" for added effect.

I know this is a common phase for babies, but Blanden didn't seem as intrigued by it, and we don't remember him saying "uh-oh" too often. (Although he loves to say, "uh-oh, spaghettio" now -- and he's never even had Spaghettios!)

Ed and I aren't quite sure what this means for the future. He is envisioning statements like, "Uh-oh. Um, Dad, I borrowed your car today..."

Other recent developments include playing patty-cake and playing peek-a-boo on his own. He was delighted when the scarves came out during music class today so that he could do just that!

Sorry, no photo today. Ellis is sound asleep at the moment, but I had wanted to get this recent milestone up on the blog. We promise to post more pictures soon.
