A Day Out with Thomas

We've seen the advertisements for years. My old office is just down the street from the key venue and I am familiar with the fall crowds when a certain someone is in town. In fact, I distinctly remember the excitement of two of my young cousins at their upcoming trip to see Thomas when they lived in Colorado in the fall we got married. It's hard to believe four years have since gone by and here we are now with our two little ones. Tickets were purchased months ago, and at last our calendar said it all: Today is for Thomas!

Here he is, coming around the bend!
Blanden's face lit up when we pulled into the museum and he first got a glimpse of the REAL Thomas!
Ellis was captivated too -- and you can see why!
Blanden got a temporary tattoo. From a choice of eight major engines, he chose Thomas.
Then it was time for our ride in Annie and Clarabel, Thomas's passenger coaches. Blanden said, "Thomas is pulling Blanden!"
Next up: A chance to meet Sir Topham Hatt! He was there to make sure Thomas was running on time, of course. We were so surprised but proud of Blanden for being willing to meet Sir Topham Hatt all by himself.
 Then it was Ellis's turn.
After that, we were off to the imagination station.
Despite having a pretty fine Thomas the Tank Engine setup at home (if you don't mind us saying so), Blanden and Ellis spent a long time here.
They were both fascinated by six different train tables and all the accoutrements.
This was a very popular attraction -- for our children and every other tot around. (Blanden met a real fireman and got to climb into the cab of a real firetruck too, hence the helmet.)
Thank you, Thomas, for coming all the way from the Island of Sodor to see us here in Colorado!
