Last Summer Swim

With their neighborhood pool closing after Labor Day, our friends Susan and Sarah invited us out for one last summer swim. Unfortunately, Mommy accidentally deleted some cute photos of Sarah and Blanden sharing snacks on the wagon ride over to the pool, and we were all too busy actually swimming and playing in the big pool to take photos there, but you get the idea: We've had fun!

Enjoying pizza for lunch on the patio -- and sitting up in a real chair, eating like a big boy, a surprise to Mommy! I thought he would need to have a picnic on the ground, but it turns out my baby is not so much of a baby anymore. Perhaps he was inspired by Sarah showing him the ropes.

Splashing in the kiddie pool. Amazingly, we had it all to ourselves today. (Blanden has definitely grown this summer. When we first went in June, he was just tall enough to sit down with the water up to his chest. Now he has noticeably more room!)

Thank you, Susan and Sarah! We've had a blast. Next up: Fall and winter play dates at the zoo, the butterfly pavilion, the aquarium, ... ;)

Papa and I just got home from a wonderful dinner, and evening out, it is definately way past your bedtime, and just about past grammy's bedtime, but I just had a feeling that there might be a new picture of you on your blog, so naturally, I had to check and can you feel my huge smile as I have a new picture of you!

You know in your picture earlier this week, remember the one where you are practicing walking, I thought you looked just like your momma, and today, sitting up like a big boy eatting pizza, you look just like dad. Dad will probably smile when he reads you this, because, I am alwasy saying that I see some of my "katie" in you.

Thanks for being a good sport, and letting your folks measure you today, because I am really excited and anxious to start your Pirate Outfit! I really, really want to have enough of it made, so I can bring it to your house next week...yes! In just a little over a week, we'll have time for stories, walks, puzzles, and lots of fun stuff. Anyway, Grammy will never get all the parts of your costume finished, but I want to have enough done to see how it is going to fit. When your actually all dressed up in it, remind mom and dad to both take pictures, to share with me.

Time for grammy to get to bed, sleep tight little one.
