Family Fun

Although we try to take advantage of our membership by visiting the zoo fairly often, it has been a couple months since all three of us were able to go together. So yesterday it seemed like the perfect way to enjoy a sunny, 80-degree October day.

At last, Mommy got to see Blanden on the "conservation" carousel. Ever since Grammy and Papa's introduction to it in September, riding the carousel is a new zoo highlight for Blanden.

Yesterday he was excited to be on the zebra, his second favorite animal (the giraffe doesn't go up and down). He kept "petting" him throughout the ride -- or maybe trying to make him go faster (although it seemed plenty fast enough for Mommy, trying to hold on tight to Blanden!).

Checking out the geese.

A Komodo dragon!

Always, we say hello to the giraffe family.

Sharing a root-beer float with Mommy (ice cream only for Blanden, though).

Up close and personal with a leopard. The leopard really was this close -- through the glass of his indoor cage, of course. A great day!

Somebody has a new hat! And it looks like a safari one, matches your outfit and your outting!

Hi Sweetheart,

Another fun day at the zoo! Yes! By the next time we go there together, you are going to be a real expect and be able to show grammy around.

I just noticed on your pictues, did you take a little tumble and scrape the side of your nose?

When I talked to momma today, she said you two where going to try for a trip to the park, did you get there? And tonight is music lesson, busy guy.

Missing you,
Grammy
