Sunday Night Football

Blanden doesn't watch television, with the occasional exception for a holiday parade -- and some Sunday night football. He mostly runs around and plays and does his own thing, but he'll stop and take it all in once in a while too. He claps when Ed claps. He says, "wow!" when Ed says, "wow!" And fortunately with Blanden around, Ed doesn't say much more than that!

Also, Blanden can officially add Thai takeout to his repertoire of favorite foods. We offered him spaghetti before our dinner arrived, thinking surely he wouldn't want to eat sesame chicken. Well, he wasn't a big fan of the chicken, but he devoured crab-cheese won tons, pork pot stickers, and steamed rice -- and even took a few bites of a shrimp spring roll. Thai Basil has always been a favorite of Uncle Andrew, but Aunt Jill and even Grammy and Papa have jumped on board over time, and now Blanden has too!
Meanwhile, while Blanden and I were out to lunch with a friend today, Ed reassembled the crib in the guest bedroom. I told him I was excited to see the crib back up. His response, "It's only been down twenty-four hours." Yes, true, but what I meant was that I'm excited to see two beds up, one for each of my babies. :-) It's not pretty yet, but it fits. If the baby is a boy, eventually he and Blanden will share a room. If the baby is a girl, this will be her room -- and she will occasionally share with Grammy, as it is very important that we keep our guest bed for all, but especially one, of our Michigan guests!

Finally, Blanden did very well last night in his new bed, all things considered. He woke up crying around 2:00 a.m. and I was sure he had fallen out, but when I got into his room he was just sitting up in bed, a little frightened by his new surroundings. He wasn't keen on me leaving, so Ed camped out the rest of the night on the floor next to him. But we made it through the first night! Here's to hoping the second is even better...
