Day Two -- Family and Friends

Still trying to fit into his sling. (Photo by Grammy on Saturday.)
Playing with a new toy with Uncle Andrew.
Rocking with Grammy. (Daddy: You can't see it very well in this picture, but when Grammy got me dressed this morning she remembered to leave the top button of my shirt undone, just like you like it, so that my clothes aren't too constricting around my neck. :) I miss you very, very much, but she's trying to watch out for me the way you would.)
Having a blast in a borrowed bouncer. This is completely unlike any toy Blanden has at home (he can jump up and down in it, whereas his own exersaucer is stationary), and he thinks it's pretty cool. (Photo by Grammy)
Visiting with Mommy's best friends -- one of whom is expecting a baby! Next time Blanden comes to Michigan, he'll have a little playmate. :)

Day two of Blanden's big trip to Michigan has been wonderfully relaxing. Blanden, Grammy, and Mommy spent some quiet time together this morning while Papa was at work. When he came home, Aunt Jill and Uncle Andrew came over for a leisurely lunch and then the six of us spent the afternoon talking and lounging around. This evening two of Mommy's nearest and dearest and oldest friends, Amy and Tara, came over for dinner and to visit. Grammy took advantage of the opportunity to cuddle and play with the little guy for a couple hours while Mommy caught up on some girl chat. (Unfortunately Papa has a bad cold and hasn't been able to spend too much time in close contact with Blanden yet for fear of spreading the germs.)
Blanden is absolutely relishing all the love and attention being lavished upon him. There is no doubt that he will have a great week -- he is continuously being held, rocked, bounced, read to, or played with by every member of the family and friends. He took only three miniature naps today, each of which was maybe a half hour long; all in a all that's very little daytime sleep, even for Blanden. There are far too many other interesting things going on around him. Does that bode well for Mommy getting a full night's rest tonight? We'll see ...
